I'm primarily a fiction writer whose work is set Appalachia, mostly in West Virginia, where I was born and raised. Jaws of Life: Stories explores the joys and difficulties of home. The Stone Catchers: A Novel asks what happens to the survivors of mass shootings after the cameras go away. My recent short fiction examines domesticity in all its weirdness.
